Wet Washing Sieves are designed for wet testing of soil, cement, and other fine materials. Fines are washed through the sieve during the wet washing process without causing any loss of sample. After the particles have been washed through, the residue left in the sieve is dried before the weighing operation.

Wet washing material over a sieve with rinse water or a gentle spray is an excellent sizing method for determining only one or two size fractions and discarding particles. Fragile and non-soluble specimens are ideal candidates for wet washing because rinse water has a gentler separating action.

Wet Washing Sieves can also be used to prepare specimens with high particles content for dust-free handling and testing, as well as to separate certain fractions for further testing.
