The Flakiness Sieve Set is used to determine whether the aggregate is flaky. Aggregate is considered flaky if its thickness is less than 0.6 times its nominal size.

Each sieve in the Flakiness sieve series (Bs Standard) has dimensions that meet with the appropriate international standard, and it is made of heavy gauge steel sheet and electrostatically painted.

This size is calculated as the average of the limiting sieve apertures used to determine the size fraction in which the particle occurs.
