The Speedy Moisture 6G Tester is used for rapid, accurate determination of the quantity of moisture in various materials, which include soils, aggregates, and powders. The product is lightweight, easy to transport, and used in field environment, as well as applied for customers in civil engineering and construction industries when fast results are expected and the reliability of results must be assured.

The Speedy Moisture 6G tester works by adding a measured amount of material to a calcium carbide reagent contained within a high pressure tight sealed container. In the sample, when the water is mixed to the calcium carbide it forms acetylene gas sample. This is because the amount of gas that is produced is directly related with the moisture content of the sample that meet or exceed the requirements of ASTM D4944 standards.

The increase that takes place is measured by the pressure gauge attached on the tester, which gives direct percentage estimation of moisture content. With an accuracy of 0.5%, the Speedy Moisture gauge can be calibrated to measure moisture content ranging from 0-20% based on wet weight.
