Digital Ring and Ball automatically detects the softening point of asphalts and pitches. Two laser sensors detect the ball's fall and determine the softening point. The bath temperature is measured using an electronic system that maintains the gradient (5 °C/min) prescribed by the Standards. A magnetic stirrer with electronic speed control from 0 to 160 rpm guarantees that the temperature in the vessel remains consistent during the test.
The fan cooling system swiftly cools the samples, allowing for many more tests per day. The touch-screen graphical interface simplifies parameter setup and enables for fast test execution. A high-resolution color display of 800x480 pixels provides all of the functionality of a PC for data administration and analysis, as well as test results and graphs.
The microprocessor menu allows you to pick two test parameters:
- Tested boiling distilled water for softening from 30 to 80 °C.
- Tested glycerol for softening at 80-150 °C.
Digital ring and ball consists of:
- The Digital ring and ball tester consists of a ceramic-glass heating plate that automatically turns off at the end of the test cycle.
- The motherboard includes a microprocessor that controls the heater/stirrer, temperature probe, laser sensors, plate pre-heating, and test settings.
- Steel ball centering device.
