Air Entrainment Meter

Standards

ASTM C231, AASHTO T152

The Air Entrainment Meter for Mortar is used to measure the air content of cement paste, cement mortar, and lime mortar. The air entrainment meter is made of cast aluminum, and the top and lower test pots are held together by an airtight seal that may be readily adjusted using the two spring clamps.

The pressure gauge is mounted in the meter's head, and the scale ranges from 0 to 20% volumetric. The air is compressed using a hand pump fitted in the system, and the clever layout of the test and correction buttons allows for quick and easy testing.

The Air Entrainment Meter is the most widely used equipment for evaluating entrained air. It produces quick results whether it is loaded into the Ready-Mix truck or discharged from the chute. Always correct. The package includes everything needed to execute the test and, most importantly, to keep the machine calibrated.

This measurement measures the air content of freshly compacted concrete. It consists of two major components: the base (measurement chamber) and the cover assembly. It comes complete with a calibrating set.

The cast aluminum base is cylindrical in form and has machine flanged rims. The internal surfaces of the base, as well as the surfaces of rims, flanges, and other component-fitted elements, are machined, resulting in tapered, smooth surfaces that allow for regular water cleanup. The device is specifically built for quick disassembly in the field to replace old or broken components.

The cover assembly includes a pressure gauge, air release lever, air bleeder valve, air pump, and ASTM C231-compliant valves and petcocks for performing tests and calibrations.

Four durable stainless-steel clamps with rapid locking action secure the cover to the base. The unit is unaffected by variations in atmospheric pressure. These clamps are resistant to corrosion from concrete, and they are easier to use and significantly less expensive to replace than older design clamps.

The new high-volume Super Pump takes fewer strokes to reach test pressures. The check valve solves the issues associated with conventional O-ring seal designs. The brass petcocks have ball valves for simple, long-lasting operation.

The big 4-inch diameter sealed gauge with adjustable pointer and stainless steel housing is long-lasting and simple to read and calibrate. The unit follows ASTM C231 and AASHTO T152, Meter Type B, and operates on the Boyle's Law premise. The base holds 1/4 cubic feet. It may also be used to determine unit weight, volume, and bulk density in the field. ASTM C-231 specifies a capacity of at least 0.20 ft3 (0.006 m3).
