Accelerated Curing Tank
Standards
ASTM C684 BS 1881:112
An accelerated concrete curing tank is basically a specialized equipment that enables ideal temperature and humidity for the curing of concrete specimens. Accelerated curing in such tanks minimizes much time required to reach optimal strengths in concrete and thus facilitates a more rapid development of concrete strengths useful in many construction and testing applications.
In the double-walled, fully insulated wall of an accelerated concrete curing tank, the inside is made of stainless steel, while the outer shell is painted steel to ensure long-lasting yet energy-efficient structures. Insulation minimises heat loss and maintains accurate temperatures necessary for consistent curing of concrete.
The curing tank is provided with a digital thermostat, meaning that the cure temperature can be set and maintained. This assures that concrete cures more quickly to the required strength, hence satisfies standards like ASTM C684 and BS 1881:112. It is able to hold up to 16 specimens of 150 mm cubes, therefore a cost-efficient solution for larger testing needs.
The construction material of the tank provides resistance to corrosion, which lasts for a long period even in extreme environmental conditions. Its design features a base rack and easy system of water discharge with minimal manual handling in order to streamline the testing process.
Applications of accelerated Curing Tanks
Laboratories: This tests samples of concrete to ensure that concretes would attain the strength at specified conditions.
Construction Sites: Precast concrete elements require it because it ensures faster turn-around times and allows the job-site manager to achieve efficient management of projects.
