Product Code
KBL-S220
Field CBR
Standards
BS 1924:2, ASTM D4429
The Field CBR Test provide a comprehensive solution for executing California Bearing Ratio (CBR) assessments directly in the field, determining the in-situ strength of soils.
Used to quickly and efficiently measure soil carrying capacity for road construction, foundations, subgrades, and so on. The field test process involves forcing a piston into the soil at the test location using a loading jack and then comparing the piston load to the depth of penetration. The jack is loaded against dead weights or a big piece of machinery, such as a loaded dump truck.
The CBR field test is pivotal in gauging the relative strength of soils and certain base materials, aiding in pavement design. It involves driving a piston into the soil and comparing the applied load to the depth of penetration. Reaction forces typically come from heavy equipment like a loaded dump truck. The apparatus is designed to align with ASTM and C.O.E. standards, and additional surcharge masses may be required to mimic larger pavement loads.
Built around the modified load frame, the CBR test set is engineered for swift field-based strength evaluations without needing laboratory analysis. The two-speed jack, with a capacity of 10,000 lbf (45 kN) and 3.5 inches of lift, offers ample flexibility for varied height requirements, supported by extension and connector sets.
