Desiccators are sealed containers used to dry samples at atmosphere or vacuum pressures. These can also protect hygroscopic substances and samples from airborne dust and moisture. Desiccators can be built of glass, polypropylene, polycarbonate, or acrylic in cabinet form.

Desiccators are made of heavy, transparent flint glass and include a ground domed cover with an inbuilt knob. Covers provide a tight barrier around the contents, and the domed cover adds some vertical space. These heavy glass units are used in laboratories to dry samples or protect them from moisture by placing a desiccant cartridge in the lower compartment. A Desiccator Plate sits at the bottom of the top compartment to support the sample. Desiccators come in size 210mm.
