The Motorized Compression Tester measures the resistance to plastic flow of bituminous pavement mixture specimens. The Marshall compression machine is simple to use and requires very little maintenance. The frame is completely capable of withstanding the load and tractions envisaged throughout the test.
The Marshall compression machine was designed to measure bituminous pavement mixtures' resistance to plastic flow. The machine has a motor with a reversing switch, producing a consistent vertical movement of 2 inches per minute. In addition, a calibrated load ring and dial indicator determine the test load.
The Marshall tester is a standalone compression load frame capable of performing Marshall tests as well as any other compressive tests that require a fixed compression speed of 50.8 mm/min.
