BITUMEN EXTRACTION
BITUMEN EXTRACTION

Product Code
Bitumen Extraction
Standards
AASHTO T164 A; ASTM D2172 A
The Centrifuges Bitumen Extraction are used for the determination of the bitumen percentage in bituminous mixtures. All model comprise a removable precision-machined rotor bowl housed in a cylindrical aluminum box. The bowl is driven by an electric motor fitted with an AC drive (inverter) with the double function of speed control up to 3600 rpm regardless of the frequency (50 or 60 Hz) and electrical breaking. The Centrifuge Bitumen Extraction can be set for the automatic speed ramp up to 3600 rpm and will stop in 10-15 seconds.
Centrifuge Bitumen Extraction are the most common binder extraction method, not requiring the heating of the solvent. Centrifuges are compatible with a wide range of chlorinated solvents, such as TCE and PERC. When dealing with flammable chemicals, there are special explosion-proof versions available. A high-speed, filter-less centrifuge is subsequently used to separate the filler from the solvent solution. Centrifuge bitumen extractors are effective and dependable for determining bitumen content in hot-mix asphalt specimens.
