Automatic Marshall compactor is widely used when preparing bituminous specimens for Marshall stability tests. Built to perform best, this device has a stable and well constructed mechanism in order to provide accurate results. Due to this, the automatic Marshall compactor is rigid and well fitted to withstand the impacts of the compaction procedure making it suitable for the demanding process.
Having a hand operated mould fixing mechanism, the automatic Marshall compactor fixes the mould in a proper manner during the compaction process that reduces its vibration highly. An easily accessible control panel consists of the start/stop button and the button for emergency stop as well as the direct reading counter to set the required number of operations, defined as blows. An LCD display is used where an operator can monitor the number of blows given and the number of blows given is preset, the apparatus will stop automatically.
The automatic Marshall compactor provides efficient compaction of 4 inch diameter samples; however, 6 inch samples can also be compacted with this equipment with the Hammer Assembly. The frame is heavy-duty thus able to endure and withstand the vigorous tests that would otherwise destroy it. The use of the tapered-foot hammer and the rotating base plate helps in applying equal pressure all over in a kneading manner which is essential for the accurate compaction.
Safety comes as a priority, and specifically, the automatic Marshall compactor features a safety door, which meets the CE Safety Directive requirements. For protection of the operator the machine automatically stops when the door is opened. Further, compacting pedestal is also sturdy and this consists of a laminate hardwood block fixed with a steel plate for getting more stabilities.
